Heal the World

That sucks about Michael Jackson. Here is some really, really weird shit from the Neverland ranch.

La Manzana Grande

I'll let the Ken Rei folkies give you the lowdown, but for now I'll just say that the show last night at the Cake Shop was a blast. Dino's set especially blew my mind and it was awesome to see the "Great Dudes" rockin out at a cool venue in New York. I got a ton of super dope pictures, which I'll post in the next day or two. Here's one for the road, from the road (I'm on a bus as I type this).

Speaking of New York, if you're looking to kill some time on the Internet (and who isn't these days?), check out this amazing multimedia photojournalism work from the New York Times.

day off

we were supposed to have a show in Vermont .. but that fell through .. then we were supposed to get a show in Boston .. . but that fell through as well . so we had the day off in Salem Massachusetts. crazy Scottish homey named Scott(ironically) . showed us around town ..on some straight astro travelin.. he took us to a well needed trip to the beach.. although it was a huge tease seeing there was swell .. and not being able to get in.. salem mass. is a super sweet city . . hopefully we'll be back someday ..

mark took us to this crazy arcade .. and next door there was this chinese joint that sold chicken chop suey & noodle sandwiches ..

strange maine. .

we arrived in Portland Maine .. and got to the venue spot .. it was like a little record/book/comic/vhs/old video games/tape/crazy bric-a-brac store.. it was real awsome but it was real tiny .. so we were a bit skeptical how many people could fit in there.. but the show was super amazing .. and dino;s set turned into a straight up dance party.. plus both the other acts were real tight. .

computers at sea was the headliner .. so much crazy circuit bent gear .. plus dude was scratching on an old belle & howell reel to reel..
homeboy mark AKA moon climbs the wall . had a dope noise set . with some dirty beats and super spaced out distorted rapping .. he also hooked us up with a couch and an inflatable mattress that kept deflating in the middle of the night.. ha ha h... it was super chill though .. thanks again mark!!

sashay shante

jamestown

we played in this weird coffee/book shop with a bunch of acoustic acts .. it was ok . some of the kids there were pretentious hipster doofuses, but the dude that played after us rocked his laptop qwerty keyboard super hard .. thanks to the promoters who got us the show and hooked it up with the $$$$$.

back on the road

first date in jamestown NY.

damn!

so technically our tour started this past Wednesday . .when we left for Montreal to play with DAT politics.. but we had a few technical difficulties getting in . we were told by multiple people that you need a work permit to play shows in Canada. .and that work permit costs $450 ,, so we thought we could just tell border patrol that we were going to record., everything was going well in the interrogation process, until the officer said "i took it upon myself to find the real reason for your Canada trip, and i found this" she pulled out a print up of our myspace with our complete tour scedule.. " i also to the liberty of calling the venues you were supposed to play and they are still expecting you to play, so we know you lied to us.. therefor we are giving you a one way ticket back home..no canada for you!!" FAIL!!

luckily we got super homeys in cleveland like mike filly and jeff K. from B-sides .. and they got us, dino, and smokescreen a last minute show .. everything went tight .. thanks to everyone who showed up.

Amanda Blank

So Amanda Blank, the latest girl rapper phenom hailing from the M.I.A./Santogold/Spank Rock camp, came to Cleveland last week and played a show at the B-Side. She was all about the sex sells approach, and it was more of a stage show than anything else. The music itself is dancey, dirty, and catchy - a win/win combination. After the show I talked to her for a good half hour before she was whisked away from me...but I definitely would have liked her better if we slept together.
